Bollywood has had a history of patriotic films, led by Manoj Kumar’s Upkar (1967), Purab Aur Paschim (1970) and Kranti (1981), Dev Anand’s Hum Dono (1961) and Prem Pujari (1970) and later Subhash Ghai’s Karma (1986) and J.P. Dutta’s Border (1997) and LOC Kargil (2003). But the current crop of movies has a different take on nationalism.
Most of the other (older) patriotic movies are celebratory without really looking at what we have done for the country. But new movies bring to the table a lot of questions that we're afraid to bring up, that are taboo, and that we kind of struggle to talk about openly
Film distributor and exhibitor Akshaye Rathi agreed that this is a viable box office strategy as patriotism is a sentiment common to every Indian irrespective of caste, creed or gender. And playing in the gallery only makes sense if you respect those feelings.
Talented actors have opened up about the rise of patriotic films in Indian cinema and said there was nothing wrong with the atmosphere. The nationalism that is growing in the country right now is wonderful because they revealed that come from a generation where they saw people being ashamed of being Indian.
We are Indians and love for our country runs in our blood. Our nationalism and patriotism are something that no other country can match. In fact, our love for India is popular far and wide, which is greatly highlighted in Indian cinema.
A good patriotic film can arouse love , encourage people to stand by their countries. we all know how people are sentimental towards their countries. That's why Indian people love to watch films which related to their countries.
There are some people who do not understand the value of the country or how many soldiers are giving their lives for this country. Indian films are a very good medium for those people who do not know how to value to their country.

Newer sagas and shades of patriotism will continue to emerge.
The quasi federal union of India has had many celebrated and unsung heroes who have been had movies dedicated to educate the people about their sacrifices and how we have the country as it is because of their undying love for the country. To capture the patriotic spirit of the people of India, many movies have been made that show how truly our countrymen can rise above all else to serve India and make it a better place to stay for everyone.Patriotism is not love for the mere scenery in your country. Patriotism is not trusting your leaders blindly. It is not showing up to vote. Patriotism is an ideology of which each individual has a unique perspective. Patriotism is the idea of attachment to one’s homeland. It encompasses a variety of notions relating to one’s political, ethnic, or cultural aspects.
